Police, fire, emergency medical personnel, and other first responders from several towns and cities will conduct drills Saturday to better prepare for emergency scenarios, from shootings inside public assembly areas to the release of toxic chemicals in subways. The second annual Urban Shield: Boston is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and last for 24 hours. The drills will be staged at seven locations, including the USS Salem in Quincy, the former Circle Cinemas in Brookline, and at 195 Albany St. in Cambridge. In Boston, locations include the former B-2 police station, the Bowdoin MBTA station, Boston Harbor, and the University of Massachusetts Boston campus.
