BRAINTREE, Mass. (AP) — State police investigating a fatal crash involving a Hanover man are trying to figure out why the 26-year-old lost control of his car and crashed on Route 3, just before Exit 17 in Braintree.
Police on Saturday named the victim as Jeffrey Prouty. He was the only person inside the car that crashed at 6:47 p.m. Friday.
Prouty was traveling southbound on Route 3 when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the shoulder of the roadway. He was taken to South Shore Hospital where physicians pronounced him dead less than an hour after the crash.
