Kevin Forgett appointed town’s budget analyst

The Board of Selectmen last Monday approved town administrator John Petrin’s appointment of Kevin P. Forgett to fill the new position of budget analyst, which was approved by the annual Town Meeting in May . A Newton resident, Forgett has worked as a local government research assistant and graduate fellow at Suffolk University’s Moakley Center for Public Management since September 2011. From May to August of this year, he also worked as a management/strategic planning intern for Pembroke. Prior to that, from September 2007 to August 2011, he worked as a risk management, property, and casualty insurance broker for an insurance company, and from June 2006 to Sept 2007, as a senior account specialist for Electric Insurance Co. In 2005, he did a three-month summer internship as special assistant to the town administrator in Windham, N.H. Forgett received a bachelor’s degree in public management from the University of Maine in 2005, and is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration from Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Management.
