Town Administrator Stephen P. Maio will offer a report recapping the town’s fiscal 2012 budget year at the Town Meeting that convenes Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Galvin Middle School, 525 Main St. In other business, the meeting will take up requests to fund contracts with several town unions and for pay increases for nonunion employees and some department heads. It will take up appropriation requests to make repairs to the Americal Civic Center; to relocate or replace a culvert that runs under the Galvin Middle School; and to place additional money in a trust fund for medical insurance expenses for town retirees. Also on the warrant is a proposed zoning bylaw that would prohibit a medical marijuana dispensary from locating in Wakefield. An article that would allow for a medical marijuana dispensary is also on the warrant, but the sponsors have said they are dropping that proposal. The meeting will also be asked to accept the Permanent Building Committee’s report on the Galvin Middle School building project, and to spend money from a Massachusetts Water Resources Authority grant for the town’s program to keep stormwater out of the sewer system. The article also seeks an appropriation to fund the town’s share of the program.
