QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — A Quincy man accused of killing his wife and injuring his adult son after hitting them with a car was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail.

Michael Rivard was arraigned Monday on charges including motor vehicle homicide and driving with a revoked license.

A judge revoked the 48-year-old Rivard’s bail in an earlier case and set the bail in the new case at Rivard’s arraignment in Quincy District Court.

Authorities said Rivard ran over his wife, Beatrice Rivard, and son, whose name was not released, while they were walking on a sidewalk near their home.

Witnesses said emergency crews had to use a hydraulic jack to lift the car off Beatrice Rivard, while the couple’s son was trapped against a utility pole. A neighbor said Rivard seemed horrified after the accident.end of story marker
