A plaque memorializing Wellesley High School alumni for their service in World War I will be rededicated at the school in a ceremony at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday. Karl Cushing McKenney, class of 1907; Francis Wellington Whitney, class of 1909, and a resident of Needham; and Franklin Temple Ingraham, class of 1909, all gave their lives during the Great War, and the bronze plaque in their honor was placed in their high school building. But when the school was moved to new quarters in 1938, the plaque was removed and lost for many years. Now that it has been found and restored, it sits in the 1938 Room at the new Wellesley High School on Rice Street. The public rededication program, being sponsored by the School Committee and the Wellesley Veterans Council, will take place in the Wilbury Crockett Library at Wellesley High. Military personnel and veterans attending the ceremony are requested to wear proper uniform attire. Light refreshments will follow.
