The question of creating a solar bylaw that would limit ground-mounted solar development to certain parts of town may be nearing a resolution. The previously divided six-member Solar Bylaw Committee has unanimously voted to approve a bylaw proposal to be brought to Town Meeting on Dec. 6, according to Town Planner Jack Hunter. The committee reached a compromise by proposing a “solar overlay district,” where solar power would be allowed. The need for a bylaw arose after a large commercial solar development was proposed for a residential zone in North Carver, provoking opposition from neighbors.
