The Rhode Island Department of Health has ordered a South Kingstown pharmacy to stop what it says is the illegal manufacturing and distribution of medications. The department said Tuesday that Bayview Pharmacy is ‘‘acting as an unlicensed manufacturer and distributor of sterile injectable medications’’ to individuals within and outside Rhode Island, including practitioners in Illinois and Indiana. It said Board of Pharmacy inspectors found that Bayview has been using compounding powders from a manufacturer not licensed in Rhode Island, as well as expired powders.
