On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce 2012 Tree Lighting Committee, we would like to thank our many sponsors, participants, and volunteers for the special townwide Tree Lighting on the Common this past Sunday.

It is easy to see why this is a holiday favorite of Stoneham. On the heels of Thanksgiving, the Tree Lighting heralds the Christmas and Hanukkah seasons with visits with Santa, fun activities for children and families, delicious food, caroling, and holiday music.

We thank Dr. Eugene Mickey & Associates for once again hosting the Tree Lighting. His generosity and support enables us, each year, to provide the entertaining activities so enjoyed on this afternoon. We are especially grateful to committee chairwoman Elisa Scher, plus Judy Sadacca and their team of volunteers from Hallmark Health System Comprehensive Breast Center, our corporate sponsor for this year’s Tree Lighting. Elisa and Judy’s group braved the gusty winds and nippy weather to graciously serve the many participating families throughout the day.

We also thank Stoneham Fire Chief Joseph Rolli, police Chief James McIntyre, DPW director Robert Grover, and DPW deputy director Larry Brophy for their special efforts in making this day possible for Stoneham and its families.
