BOSTON (AP) — The Vienna Boys’ Choir will perform in a holiday concert at Boston’s Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
The concert will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday and hosted by radio personality Ron Della Chiesa, voice of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
The historic choir is believed to have been established in 1498. Until 1918, the choir sang exclusively for the court, at Mass, at private concerts and functions, and on state occasions. Today, there are about 100 choristers between the ages of 10 and 14, divided into four touring choirs that give about 300 concerts and performances each year. They visit many European countries and are frequent guests in Asia, Australia and the Americas.
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross is the largest Roman Catholic church in New England.
