BOSTON (AP) — Authorities say an inmate in his 20s has died at the South Bay House of Correction in Boston.
Jake Wark, a spokesman for the Suffolk County district attorney’s office, says the man’s name and circumstances of his death on Sunday weren’t immediately available.
Boston police spokesman James Kenneally says the inmate was a man in his early 20s.
Boston police and the district attorney’s office are investigation the death. Wark says no charged have been sought.
According to the Suffolk County sheriff’s department’s website, the South Bay House of Correction houses as many as 1900 inmates who are convicted of crimes with a sentence of 2½ years or less.
