Police seek donations for toy drive

The Police Department is seeking donations for the annual Toys for Tots drive. Toys for Tots is aMarine Corps Reserve program that collects donations of holiday gifts for children of families in need. Anyone wanting to donate is asked to bring new unwrapped gifts to a dropoff box in the lobby of the town’s public safety building at 1 Union St. Wakefield Police Detective Kenneth Silva and Officers Jonathan Burnham and John Whaley, all of whom are Marine Corps veterans, are donating their time to the drive. Also assisting are Officer Kevin Flynn and Special Officer Joseph Conway. Meanwhile, town officials are advising that 2013 resident parking stickers will be available for sale at the selectmen’s office in Town Hall starting Monday. end of story marker
