FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — A longtime Falmouth school custodian has died after being involved in a traffic accident.
Police say 57-year-old Raleigh Costa Jr. crashed his pickup truck into a tree just after 11 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police tell the Cape Cod Times (http://bit.ly/1265VDM ) no other vehicles were involved and it does not appear as if speed or alcohol were factors.
School officials say Costa was a 27-year employee of Falmouth Public Schools, working the past seven or eight at Morse Pond School, where he was popular with staff and students.
Costa was also a member of a prominent local family, and his father was a longtime high-ranking firefighter.
