Don’t expect to see the town-owned Sacred Heart building demolished right away, Sharon Board of Selectmen Chairman William Heitin said last week. Although voters passed an article Monday approving demolition of the former Catholic school dormitory, Heitin said the town will first study how best to reuse the land. He hopes to have a proposal ready for the May 2013 Town Meeting and does not believe the town will demolish the building until then, he said. The town intends for the land to be used for open space or recreation, but the article did not include a specific plan. end of story marker
