(Most) Bruins visit the White House
The defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins partook in a time-honored ritual Jan. 23, visiting the White House and meeting with the president. Almost everyone was there.
One player wasn’t, though. Star goalie Tim Thomas (inset, lower right of team photo) boycotted the event. It set off a firestorm that lasted days and was seen as an early indicator that Thomas didn’t want to return to the team in 2012-13.
