WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A former bus driver for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority is facing charges in connection with the death of a pedestrian he’s accused of striking.

Edward Rossi Jr. of Shrewsbury is scheduled to be arraigned next month on charges including motor vehicle homicide by negligent driving in connection with the Sept. 28 death of 62-year-old Linda Sneed.

The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/RtndK1 ) reports that a complaint containing the charges was issued Thursday.

Authorities say Sneed was six to 10 feet into the road when she was struck by Rossi’s bus. She wasn’t in a crosswalk. Police say Rossi never came to a complete stop before making a turn.

Visibility was poor because of rain and glare from other vehicles.

The 70-year-old Rossi retired after the accident. He hasn’t commented.
