Boylston Elementary School didn’t meet two major benchmarks in its annual state report card, according to a posting on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s website, www.doe.mass.edu, under its Profiles link. The benchmarks for the report card are two sets of academic standards, known as “all students” and “high needs.” Boylston Elementary scored 74 on all students and 64 on high needs; the benchmark for both is 75. Superintendent Nadine Ekstrom pointed out earlier this year, however, that while some schools were below the benchmark, the Berlin-Boylston Regional School District as a whole was outperforming many others statewide.
