March 2012: Groundbreaking on AVA Somerville (studio, one- and two-bedroom units designed for urban professionals) and Avalon at Assembly Row (larger, more upscale studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with gourmet kitchens and balconies). The mixed-use residential/retail buildings at 74 Foley St. will include more than 400 apartments.

November 2012: Opening of Burger Dive. The 45-seat burger and fries eatery at 702 Assembly Square Drive is the first storefront in a development by Federal Realty.

Ongoing road improvements to Route 28.

Winter/spring: Announcement on retail stores with signed leases.

Leasing to begin for AVA Somerville and Avalon at Assembly Row.

Summer: A 6-acre park along the Mystic River will be completed.

Retail space in Avalon and AVA buildings to be completed, and leasing to begin for apartments.

14-screen AMC Movie Theatre to be completed.

MBTA’s Assembly Square Station on the Orange Line scheduled to open.
