The Somerville Arts Council will announce its first artist of the month Monday in what will be an ongoing series, according to an announcement from the council. On the first Monday of each month, a new artist selected by a panel from nominations made by the Somerville community will be revealed. An interview with the featured artist will be posted on the council’s website, somervilleartscouncil.org , along with images of their work. A public gathering will be held at the end of the year to recognize the 12 selections, the announcement said.
