With funding from TD Bank, Quincy will erect a sign at the intersection of Furnace Brook Parkway and Adams Street to carry information about community events and local news. The bank recently built a facility near the location, and had to take down a community message board on the traffic island due to construction. As part of the agreement to construct the bank, owners agreed to donate $12,000 to the city for a new sign. City Councilor Brian Palmucci said the sign will probably be installed after the spring, but that such details as size and which direction it will face are still being worked out by the mayor’s office and the Department of Public Works. City councilors unanimously approved the donation during their Dec. 17 meeting.
