BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP) — Police say a 51-year-old Barnstable man apparently upset when he learned that a class he wanted to take at Cape Cod Community College was full, asked for the names of the students already registered so he could shoot one to make room.
Police say Mark Jones was arrested at his home Tuesday after making his alleged comments at the school’s admissions office at about noon. College employees who overheard his remarks alerted police.
The Cape Cod Times (http://bit.ly/VK06e6 ) reports that Jones is scheduled to undergo an evaluation on Wednesday and be arraigned on misdemeanor charges of threatening to commit a crime and disturbing a school assembly.
Jones told police he was joking and had no access to guns. Police did not find any firearms in a search of his home.
