Residents are invited to take part in the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast Monday at 9 a.m. at the Connolly Center, 90 Chelsea St. The event is held each year on Martin Luther King Day by Zion Church Ministries in Everett to honor the civil rights leader’s life and work while supporting the scholarships the church awards to high school seniors to further their education. The guest speaker at this year’s breakfast is Walter Carrington, a former US ambassador and a graduate of Harvard Law School who is originally from Everett. Tickets are $20 each ($150 for a table of 10) and can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling the church at 617-389-8357. end of story marker
