CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Egyptian Democratic Academy Activist Esraa Abdel Fattah will speak at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government during a panel discussion about democratic movements in authoritarian regimes.
The discussion will follow a screening of the documentary ‘‘A Whisper to Roar,’’ which features democracy activists in Egypt, Malaysia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
The free public event is scheduled for Monday evening in the Taubman Building.
The discussion will also include film director Ben Moses and Slate magazine journalist Will Dobson. It will be moderated by Kennedy School professor Tarek Masoud. The film seeks to explore what motivates people around the world to risk their lives for democracy.
The screening and discussion are the first in a five-part tour around the country.
