MALDEN, Mass. (AP) — A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and father of two has been gunned down in broad daylight in front of the Malden skateboard shop he owned.

Authorities say 39-year-old Shawn Clark of Saugus was shot multiple times just before 1 p.m. Tuesday in front of his Patriot Skateboards shop. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Witnesses say they saw two men running down the street just after the shooting, but the Middlesex district attorney’s office did not immediately release a possible motive or announce any arrests.

Family members say Clark served in Iraq and Afghanistan while in the Marines and it had always been his dream to open a skateboard shop. His aunt said he was the father of two young sons.end of story marker
