QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a fatal altercation in which a 20-year-old Weymouth man allegedly killed his father with a pipe to the head started when the son fired a BB gun inside.
Michael Beaudry was ordered held without bail after he pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday to murdering 58-year-old Ronald Beaudry.
Authorities say after his son fired the gun inside, the elder Beaudry followed him outside Monday to ensure he didn’t fire it in the neighborhood. They said the younger Beaudry then turned and struck his father with a three foot-long piece of PVC pipe, and his father banged his head on the street.
Authorities say Michael Beaudry then desperately tended to his father and begged emergency workers to save him.
Beaudry’s attorney said his client should face a lesser charge of manslaughter, not murder.
