Town Meeting recently appropriated $500,000 for the site work involved in the town’s restoration of the Marion Tavern at Grand View Farm . The site work will include a new driveway and parking lot, drainage improvements, construction of sidewalks and handicap ramps, and landscaping. The meeting also authorized the use of $521,600 generated from the sale of two South Bedford Street properties to benefit the project — with $300,000 to repay a previous bond and the rest to complete interior work in the main house. It also approved spending $28,553 in insurance payments to repair damage caused by vandals this past fall. Town Meeting also approved several other spending requests, including $440,000 to remove inflow and infiltration of storm water in to the sewer system, and $265,000 to refurbish a fire truck. In other business, Town Meeting members approved a zoning measure imposing a 17-month moratorium on the location of medical marijuana dispensaries in town. Four other zoning proposals also won approval, including one that would allow residents to keep up to six hens on their properties.
