Newburyport’s Commission for Diversity and Tolerance is requesting proposals from individuals and organizations for its annual mini-grant awards. Applications must be postmarked by March 15. Established in 2005, the commission strives to further a sense of welcome and inclusion in Newburyport. The fund-raising efforts of Friends For Peace Inc. enable the commission to offer the small grants. Grant proposals must provide for an activity to educate or to promote the commission’s mission of creating a sense of welcome, inclusion, and worth to all, as well as working toward the elimination of prejudice, intolerance, discrimination, and acts of hate in Newburyport. To learn more or to request an application, e-mail the commission at nbptcdt@gmail.com. For more information about the commission, visit www.nbptcdt.com. end of story marker
