Water curbs lifted

Residents can let their faucets flow freely again. The town lifted the water restrictions that were imposed last weekend in the middle of the big storm. Officials had asked residents to use as little water as possible, after a generator at the municipal water-treatment plant broke and the facility lost all power. While there was water available and the town opened a “sharing valve” between Hingham and Cohasset, officials wanted to be conservative in water usage, according to acting Police Chief William Quigley. Power was restored to the water plant, and the restrictions were lifted on Monday, he said.
