Police want to know if you mailed a gift card or expensive electronic item and it never reached its destination; they may be able to help, according to Walpole’s deputy chief, John Carmichael. Working with the US Postal Service Inspector General’s Office, police in February arrested a part-time postal worker at the East Walpole Post Office on charges of stealing items from the mail, Carmichael said. He said police, who used surveillance equipment and dummy packages to make their case, recovered numerous gift cards, cellphones, iPads, and other electronics and would like to reunite them with their owners. “We’re asking people to step forward if they didn’t get [an expected] package or sent one that never got there,” Carmichael said. Those people should call the Walpole police detectives at 508-668-1095. end of story marker
