Lexington will celebrate the 300th anniversary of the town’s incorporation next weekend with a two-day festival featuring a dance, mock Town Meeting, author talks, and recreation. The celebration, called “LexCelebrate,” will be held Saturday and Sunday  at multiple locations around town. The events have been coordinated by the 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee for the tercentennial anniversary of Lexington’s incorporation as a town, on March 31, 1713. On Saturday, at Cary Memorial Hall, eighth-grade students will hold a mock Town Meeting beginning at 1:30 p.m. That night, a dance for the entire community called “300th Dance Around the World” will be held at Lexington High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. Recreation events, including ping-pong and a demonstration by The YoYo Performers, will be held at the Lexington High School Field House from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, and local authors will be leading discussions at the high school on Saturday and Sunday. Many of the events are free, but some require a ticket. A full list of the events can be found on the 300th Anniversary Celebration website at www.lexington300.org .
