New North Church in Hingham is presenting a lecture series on Louisa May Alcott, author of “Little Women,” as well as other noted members of the Alcott family. The idea for the lectures came to organizer John Bewick when he was reading “My Heart is Boundless,” a compilation of letters and journal entries by Abigail May Alcott, Louisa’s mother. “I just got this tremendous admiration for someone people didn’t know very well, and that . . . inspired the series,” Bewick said. The series started on March 27 with author Eve LaPlante and focused on Abigail. On Wednesday, Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Matteson will discuss Louisa’s father, Bronson. Finally, Jan Turnquist, executive director of Orchard House in Concord, will play Louisa in a lecture on April 10. The lectures will take place at 1 Lincoln St. in Hingham at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 per lecture or $20 for all three, and reservations are not required. For more information, e-mail email@example.com.
