Fifth- and sixth-graders in the Freetown-Lakeville School District can take part in a summer camp conducted by the Plymouth County Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education program, from July 29 to Aug. 2, according to the district’s resource officer, Ryan Maltais. The camp includes snacks and lunch, education in substance abuse and public safety, arts and crafts, and a team Olympics program. Maltais said the camp will be “fun for the kids as it builds awareness of substance abuse.” The program is free and transportation to and from the camp, held at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, will be provided by Lakeville police via a school bus, he said. For information, call Maltais at 508-947-2660, ext. 1304, or e-mail email@example.com.
