Chris Petrini will talk about his experiences climbing Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States, in a 7 p.m. presentation June 17 at the Framingham Public Library on Lexington Street. Petrini, who serves as Framingham’s town counsel, was selected by Backpacker magazine through a competitive process to join a group ascending the 14,505-foot summit in California to raise money for Big City Mountaineers, which provides outdoor wilderness experiences for urban youths. Petrini, who has said the trek’s high points included traversing the last 500 feet with technical rock climbing equipment, will also show photographs from his travels. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, visit www.framinghamlibrary.org or call 508-532-6347.
