Fugitive charged in jewelry store robberies in Beverly

A 51-year-old who is wanted in at least five states was ordered held on $750,000 cash bail at his arraignment Monday in Salem District Court in connection with two jewelry store burglaries in Beverly, prosecutors said. James Ray Radler, whose permanent address is unknown, was arrested Saturday at the Knights Inn in Danvers. He is charged with two counts of breaking and entering and destruction of property over $250 in the Dec. 23, 2012, and Jan. 1 burglaries of Desjardins Jewelry on Enon Street, the Beverly Police Department said. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
