How wet has June been so far? So wet it’s already the sixth-wettest ever — and we’re only halfway through

By noon Friday, 8.41 inches of rain had fallen on the Hub since the sodden month began, placing June 2013 at number 6 on the National Weather Service’s list of the wettest Junes since meteorologic gurus began keeping records in the 1870s.

And we’re only halfway through the month.

Pack your flip-flops and head to Seattle.

That stereotypically soaked city has seen just a half-inch of rain all month.

Boston in June usually has 1.84 inches of rain at this point in the month and 3.22 inches for the entire month, said Charles Foley, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Boston.
