With its musical headliners and world-class fireworks, Boston may capture all the attention when it comes to July Fourth festivities.
But many of the towns west of the city celebrate the holiday with live music and fireworks as well — some on the actual date, some before or after it — whereas other towns mark Independence Day the old-fashioned way, with games, parades, races, and contests.
