Hundreds of motorcycles will travel a 40-mile escorted path throughout the South Shore on Saturday to raise money in memory of a Weymouth girl.
Six-year-old Joanna Mullin was raped and murdered in Weymouth in 2007. Her cousin is serving two life prison terms for the crime.
Proceeds from the ride will go to Joanna’s Place, which provides support for families dealing with tragic loss, according to program spokeswoman Irene McCarty. She said funds also will go to New England Medical Center’s Good Grief Program, which helps children deal with loss and aided the Mullin family. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
