Two unused Braintree school buildings have been handed off to the town with hopes to sell the structures to fund space needs solutions in other buildings.
Both Eldridge and Foster Elementary Schools were declared surplus building by Braintree’s School Committee in late June, which effectively relinquishes School Committee control. Now the buildings can be sold off, and proceeds from that sale could help support add-ons at existing schools, lowering class sizes and letting out the seams to often overcrowded schools.
