A six-alarm fire tore through a mixed-use building in Uxbridge Thursday, sending three firefighters to the hospital with heat exhaustion as temperatures soared into the 90s, fire officials said. Jennifer Mieth, a spokeswoman for the state fire marshal’s office, said that the building at 23 South Main St., which contains two commercial units and seven apartments, is “a total loss.” Apart from the three firefighters, who were all later released from the hospital, there were no other injuries, Mieth said. State and local authorities will investigate the cause of the fire, Mieth said.
