In an effort to fill vacancies on various town boards, selectmen have sent letters to people who attended “visioning” sessions in the town’s Master Plan process. The 25 vacancies include two spots on the Board of Assessors that carry $600 stipends, two seats on the Board of Library Trustees, a vacancy on the Planning Board, and slots for two alternate members for the Zoning Board of Appeals. “Because of your interest in the Master Plan, and what you learned in the visioning process, I hope that you will apply for an appointment to one of the town’s boards, commissions, and committees,” said the letter. The deadline to apply for a vacancy is July 24. A list of unfilled positions and an application for those interested in filling a position is available by going to www.stoughton.org. Selectmen will interview those interested in filling vacancies at their meeting on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
