Women in Action is an initiative of the North Shore United Way that has focused on raising money to support programs to address childhood obesity, healthy eating, and physical fitness.

Five local programs serving Beverly and Cape Ann will benefit from its latest round of grants, $30,767 awarded in June.

“PowerSnack: Good Food for Hungry Kids,” which operates in Gloucester’s schools, received $10,000.
