The town is offering Wednesday Walks at Mill Pond, regular guided walks each Wednesday afternoon around the Mill Pond Reservoir. The Board of Selectmen, the Recreation Commission, and the Conservation Commission are jointly organizing the program. Mill Pond Reservoir, one of Burlington’s two drinking water supplies, is in the eastern part of town near the Wilmington and Woburn lines. The 1.6-mile route covers a variety of terrain. Walkers will circle the reservoir, starting on a level, gravel road and eventually following an uneven trail on the southern edge of the pond. To start, the walks will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Parking for a limited number of cars is available at the Mill Pond Water Treatment Plant on Winter Street. Car pooling is strongly encouraged.
