Search on for new DPW head

The town is looking for a new director for the Department of Public Works to replace Jeffrey Bina, who left last week for Westwood.The job posting says the position will pay between $95,192.72 and $117,324.88 and involves supervision of “highway construction and maintenance, solid waste disposal and recycling operations, tree, parks and open space maintenance, beach and shore protection, and the water and sewer operating plants and systems.” As of early last week, about half a dozen people had applied for the position, all from outside the Weymouth DPW, according to the municipal human resources department. In Westwood, Bina will be the town’s liaison to University Station, a 2.2-million-square-foot, mixed-use development near Route 128, according to Westwood DPW Director Todd Korchin.
