Town Meeting this year was considerably shorter than in 2012, and a speedy Special Town Meeting is expected in the fall. After 2012’s nine-session, 88-article marathon, voters this year considered 80 articles over seven sessions, running into competition four times with the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The final night of Town Meeting coincided with the Bruins’ losing Game 6. “I think if we had kept Town Meeting going, they would have won the Stanley Cup, but what price did we want to pay to win the cup?” said Selectman Robert O’Regan, who has been looking into ways to streamline Town Meeting.
