The 17th overall pick in the 2006 Major League Baseball First-Year player draft by the San Diego Padres, Peabody’s Matt Antonelli played professional baseball for eight seasons. But after three relatively healthy seasons, his career was derailed by injuries. He played 21 games at the major league level, all in 2008 with the Padres.
