Amtrak train delayed after incident involving pedestrian on track

An Amtrak train en route to South Station was delayed after a person on the track obstructed the train Wednesday night, an Amtrak spokesman said. Spokesman Marc Magliari declined to confirm that the train hit the pedestrian. The condition of the pedestrian was not immediately known. According to Magliari, Train 94 from Washington, D.C., was delayed around 9:53 p.m. as a result of the incident, which he said took place between the Providence and Route 128 stations. Magliari said MBTA Transit Police, who did not respond to requests for comment, were investigating the incident. There were 147 passengers and at least four crew members on the train, Magliari said, none of whom were injured in the incident.
