Opinions remained sharply divided at a Framingham Zoning Board hearing last week on whether to allow a clinic for eating and mood disorders at the former Marist Brothers retreat center.
Residents have been gathering signatures since July on a petition opposing plans by Walden Behavioral Care LLC to operate the clinic. At the hearing Tuesday night, opponents led by Paula Jacobs turned in the latest collection of signatures to the Zoning Board, which she said brings the total to at least 500.
In contrast, the Zoning Board acknowledged receiving a different petition signed by about only 25 Walden proponents.
The Zoning Board will take up Walden’s proposal again on Sept. 17, and will focus on the impact Walden’s facility would have on traffic. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
