A new group, Newburyport Forward, has been formed to support the redevelopment authority’s plan for development on the waterfront. The authority’s plan is to increase the size of the existing waterfront park and construct two three-story, mixed-use buildings in the parking lot space.
The Committee for an Open Waterfront is against any building on the 4.2 acres in question, which are two primarily dirt lots on either side of the existing waterfront park. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
