EASTON, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a 71-year-old man and his dog are dead after being struck by a car in southern Massachusetts.
Bristol County prosecutors say George Power was walking his dog Monday morning when he was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old boy. Power was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
The DA’s office says a preliminary investigation indicates Power and his dog were on or near the sidewalk when they were struck. The car hit a tree before coming to a stop.
Bristol County prosecutors, Easton police and state police detectives are investigating.
