The Boston University student beaten Saturday morning near the school’s south campus is a 27-year-old veteran of the US Navy who transfered to the school this fall, according to his brother.
The victim was identified by his brother as Michael Stinnett-Kassoff. According to Stinnett-Kassoff’s brother, the undergraduate student was headed to his on-campus apartment near Beacon Street and Park Drive about 3 a.m. Saturday. A car sped by coming “within inches” of him, Ellia Kassoff, the victim’s brother, said.
When Stinnett-Kassoff yelled at the car to slow down, the driver of the dark-colored sedan turned the car around. Three men got out of the car, came over, and started kicking and punching Stinnett-Kassoff, his brother said. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
